Cucumber Pineapple Smoothie with Mint and Lime



I needed a detox drink or rather a home made flu shot and came up with this smoothie. Keeping in mind the ongoing flu season, used honey and black pepper in the smoothie. 
Cucumbers are made of 95% water.  Even on a cold wintry day, I felt the need to stay hydrated since central heating is used everywhere. Cucumbers also are natural antihistamines. 
Pineapple is my favorite tropical fruit due to its vibrant flavor. Rich in Vitamin C, it provides good immune support. 
Honey energizes the body and fights bacteria apart from being a natural sweetener.
Lemon being a digestive cleanser, promotes weight loss and also a natural blood purifier.
Pears are rich in minerals like Copper and potassium, and act like anti carcinogenic. 
Green smoothie is incomplete without a herb.Mint is my top choice for smoothie since it marries well with pineapple. Mint eases PMS and also keeps allergies at bay.

1/2 cup pineapple chunks
1 small organic Persian cucumber 
1/2 cup green pear chops( optional) 
Juice of 1 lime
1 tbsp chia seeds soaked in 2 tbsp water
1 tsp honey (raw organic if available) 
1 tsp freshly ground black pepper 
1/4 cup coconut milk 
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup fresh mint leaves( spearmint preferred) 

Combine all the above ingredients in a blender to make a smoothie. Add ice cubes when making smoothie if needed.
