Avocado Basil Bliss



Am still recovering from a bad upper respiratory virus. Thanks to my everyday smoothies that kept antibiotics and antivirals at bay.

Beautiful Christmas post the much needed rain.The warm Sun and crisp air made my day.

I received a dozen homegrown avocados from a good friend of mine( so grateful to her).Have been making guacamole, avocado tortilla and avocado smoothie every other day. I am not only enjoying the fruit but reaping it's health benefits.

Today was another detox smoothie day. Infact, a green smoothie day.

1 medium sized avocado deseeded and peeled
1 small green apple
1/4 cup chopped pineapple
1/3 cup almond milk
1/2 cup cold water
8-10 fresh basil leaves
1 tsp chia soaked in 3 tbsp water

Combine all the above ingredients in a blender, with or without ice cubes, to smoothie them. Add basil only towards the end when smoothie is almost done so that it's freshness stays intact.
Add less water for a creamier smoothie.
