Cucumber Green Apple Smoothie

After a plethora of heavy food during Thanksgiving, it's time for a detox before work week starts on Monday.
                       
Cucumber and green apple have always been my favorite for smoothies. They pair well with green leafy veggies and berries.
Wanted to make not-so-sweet smoothie for lunch today.  I came up with this smoothie which had flavors of herb and lemon.
Pumpkin seeds are a good protein source, so added them to my smoothie.

1 medium sized cucumber deskinned
1 green apple deseeded
Juice of 1 lime
1 tbsp chia seeds soaked for 10 mins
2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp dried basil
1/2 cup white seedless grapes
1 tsp roasted pumpkin seeds
1/2 cup almond/coconut milk

Coarsely chop the apple and cucumber into big chunks.
Combine the lemon juice, chia,pumpkin seeds,cucumber and apple to blend with the milk of your choice
When smooth, add the grapes and blend for few seconds. Mix in the pepper powder, Dried basil and smoothie again.

You can alter the consistency of smoothie by adding water or almond /coconut milk.
Don't recommend soy milk unless it's organic.

This recipe serves 4.
