Whole wheat thins with mango and avocado -Indian Papdi Chaat

Papdi chaat is another favorite street food of mine and kinda soothing one.
I was in the process of making salsa with mangoes initially for our Easter lunch  with our friends. But then noticed some avocados, wheat thins in the pantry and I continued my fusion food experiment.

Originally, papdi chaat recipes includes the thins layered with freshly chopped tomatoes, potatoes and onions drizzled with yogurt and garnished with cilantro.

Avocado ,mango and chickpea were the key ingredients in my variation.

1/2 cup cooked chickpea
1 ripe Mexican mango finely chopped
1 avocado finely chopped
1 medium sized onion finely chopped
1 Persian cucumber chopped into bite sized cubes
1/4 cup cilantro for garnish
1/4 cup yogurt
Date chutney and Mint chutney

In a bowl, transfer the avocado ,cucumber, mangoes and onions .Mix them thoroughly.
Arrange the wheat thins on a plate. On each thin, add some chickpeas and salsa mixture. Drizzle a tsp yogurt on each along with mint and date chutney.Garnish with cilantro.

The thins vanished from the plate before I could take a pic with cilantro.
This dish was a perfect marriage of Californian local fruits with Indian chutney.

I realised later in the day that this was totally sodium free. No one complained or rather missed any salt in the dish.

Truly a detox spring relish!!!

Date and mint chutneys can be made using any internet recipes. But I will post mine soon.
Ciao till then....
