My most favorite snack and chocolate has always been Reese's peanut butter cups.
Hit upon the idea of making them at home, and use ingredients of my choice. To tell the truth, the pricey natural peanut butter I bought recently was tasteless. Cookies, smoothies and sauces using that peanut butter was a Flop.
Peanut butter cup was my last attempt.
Borrowed the recipe from a website and modified it to my taste.
1/2 cup natural peanut butter
1/4 cup powdered organic raw sugar
12 oz semisweet chocolate chips/chunks
1.5-2 tbsp butter
1 tsp virgin coconut oil (optional)
Melted the butter and sugar on a skillet by stirring them gently.
Added the peanut butter and mixed thoroughly. Care should be taken to avoid burning of the peanut butter. Let the mixture cool to room temperature. Once they were cooled, made small patties out of the mixture.
I double boiled the chocolate chunks till they were evenly heated. You can follow different methods , I prefer double boiling.

In the meantime, I lined the cupcake moulds with baking cups.
Poured a tsp of the melted chocolate into each cup to form the bottom layer.
Next layer is the peanut butter patty.
The patties are layered with melted chocolate on the top.
Let them cool to room temperature and then refrigerated for about 2 hours.
Dark chocolate peanut butter cups are ready to be served. Must say they are addictive.
Ciao for now.
The second time I made it , didn't use butter at all. Used 3-4 tbsp organic virgin coconut oil.
Loved my second bath of the peanut butter cups.
